Lazy Wednesday

Lazy Wednesday :)

In a good way though. One of those hot, Texas summer days that makes a person want to do absolutely NOTHING. I did the usual necessary things; laundry, feed and water the animals....feed and water the family. LOL

I tried a new recipe for chicken tonight, and it really was good. I took some chicken breasts and coated them with sour cream mixed with a little garlic salt and onion powder. Then I rolled the breasts in crushed up corn flakes. Drizzled them with melted butter and popped them in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. De-Lish-Us!

I don't try new things very often, because my family likes the tried and true. Meat and potatoes kind of folks. Every now and then I'll throw something new at them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The "doesn'ts" are always a hit with the dogs though :)

Oof! THat recipe sounds divine - but oh so full of cholesterol - over fifties like me can only dream! Hubbie and I are both now on strict diets now that our last teenager has left home.

How hot does it get where you live? It's cold here at the moment so I am jealous of your sunny weather. I am a simple eater too and just like plain things but I really like the sound of that chicken - in fact so much so I am going to give that a try. And maybe I need a dog - I make a lot of dud meals come to think of it. I try, thats the main thing right???? I lvoe your attitude, you know that - nice to find others that feel the same way about life.

Lilly, today's high is supposed to be 94 degrees or for an Aussie 34.4 degrees celsius! We will get in the triple digits before the summer is over.

I've had a few dud meals in my time, and I've got one fat dog to prove it. I'm spreading the dud love around now. Our puppy gets the most leftovers, and Rudy is really ticked about it.

Hi, Ms Fifty :)
I'm 42 and just now learning about the cholesterol issue. Mine is actually normal, but my triglycerides are high. Work on those my doc says. Yah, right! I'm not giving up my carbs!
