Isn't this little killdeer the cutest ever??? I wasn't home when the eggs finally hatched, but my daughter was. She called me all excited. "Mom, we've got baby birdies!!! You know the little bird by the driveway that we've been watching?? Her eggs hatched! One of them is all ready walking around, and another one is coming out of its egg!" I told her to go grab the camera and take some pictures for me. I think she did a great job, and what a wonderful thing for her to experience.
Only one of the four eggs did not hatch. I checked it out, and it had a tiny crack. Made me sad, but that is the cycle of life. Some make it and some do not, no matter the care that is taken.

They are so cute and she did a wonderful job with the camera.
I like it when birds have nest where they are suppose to. I am having a time with birds trying to build nests on our front porch. I mean a time. Anyway, your babies are cute as bug's ears.

This is such a great time of year. It really pays to get out and see the things that are going on in nature. All the little ones being born.
I've got a pair of barn swallows nesting on my porch. They're making quite a mess, but I'm going to leave them alone until the eggs hatch. I want to hear the little chirps. In the meantime, I'm steadily hosing the porch off!
I love this time of year, too. Babies of all types everywhere! Foals, calves, baby goats and birds :) Sweet Spring is Here!
